The swells were expected to reach a height of 10m in some places along the coast.
The birds were grounded today; only a crazy gull would try to take off in weather like this. Everywhere we went we saw huge flocks of seagulls sitting on the ground.
I'm pretty sure the Sea Point swimming pool is now a salt-water pool.
We certainly weren't the only ones out taking photos of the ocean...
That's spume (or sea foam) lying on the rocks. There was quite a bit of it along the Sea Point promenade too.
