USS Theodore Roosevelt, a view from the beach

posted by Paul
From the beach at Woodbridge Island, we watched helicopters fly back and forth between the aircraft carrier, the USS Theodore Roosevelt, and Cape Town. See the main post on our Cape Town Daily Photo blog for more details.

The helicopters you saw, they were retriving mail for all the sailors. and they were restocking their food supply. This is how the sailors get their mail from their love ones.

Thanks anonymous. It sure would have made it easier if the TR could have pulled into Table Bay harbour - the helicopters went back and forth for quite some time.

You don't perhaps know what the vessel's draft is, do you?
